We do have a standardised uniform, but this is not a necessary part of your wardrobe until you are taking your Free Scholar grade. Made of 350N olympic grade fabric, it is required for competition or for safe sparring with steel swords.

Our colours are white and black, with a white jacket and socks paired with black breeches*. The club patch is worn on the left shoulder, and a national patch can be worn underneath this if you have competed and medalled in at least one international tournament.

The equipment used in modern fencing and in our system of swordsmanship has been optimised for freedom of movement over several centuries, and is not likely to be improved on much further.

*sometimes a student may be wearing different colours when they have transferred from another school.
