Foundational
If you are completely new to HEMA and have no equipment of your own, don’t worry! New starters will be supplied with school kit to enable them to participate in foundation classes. Simply wear loose fitting clothing suitable for a sporting activity, and non-marking hall shoes.
Please bear in mind that you will need your own equipment as you progress at the school, and school kit is limited. The newest students will always be given first shout on any school kit.
If you would like to participate in one of our foundation classes, please contact us using the contact details below.

Refinement
At this stage you will need to provide the minimal level of protection for drills at speed. You will require a mask, gloves, a box for men or a chest protector for women, and a gorget. You will also need 350N rated jacket and breeches. You will also need to use your own weapons at this stage.
If you intend to participate in controlled sparring, you will also need forearm, shin, knee, elbow and back of head protection.
Please contact us using the details below to discuss suitable equipment before purchase – not everything is acceptable from a safety perspective.
