Source: With a distinctive hilt design, this type of rapier was used throughout the Iberian peninsula and in the colonial wars of South America. First developed in Spain, it was designed for use in such systems as described by Diogo Gomes de Figueiredo in his work Oplosophia (1628)                                                                     Blade Typology: Narrow Rapier Blade
